Bank of Ceylon has called for proposals from interested parties
who could offer office space in the following areas for
proposed Extension Offices.

Mutwal – Mattakkuliya, enderamulla – Wattala,
Elakanda – Wattala, Delgoda, Mulleriyawa New Town,
Pallewela – Mirigama, Weliveriya, Bopitiya – Pamunugama.

Buildings should conform to the following requirements:
Floor area of 750 to 1000 Sq ft. (with rear space for an
electricity generator) and minimum road frontage of 20 feet.

SEYLAN BANK – Public Share Issue

In compliance with the direction from the Monetary Board of Sri Lanka, Seylan Bank has proposed a private placement and public offering of ordinary (Voting) shares.

The private placement will amount to 32,150,000 new ordinary shares of Rs. 35 each being issued, out of which Bank of Ceylon is to take up 13 million shares and Sri Lanka Insurance corporation taking up the balance 19,150,000 shares. The National Savings Bank already holds a 3.5 percent stake in Srylan Bank. With the allotment of new shares, the total stake held in the Seylan Bank by State institutions will be 28 percent of the increased capital.

The general public will also be offerred 54,290,000 ordinary (voting) shares at Rs. 35 each, with preference being given to the existing ordinary (voting) shareholders subject to prevailing shareholding limits under the Banking Act.
